Live services for Wilmond Earl Ashby, Jr.
Wilmond Earl Ashby, Jr., 76, passed away November 7, 2022 at his home in Lawrenceburg. Born in Anderson County, KY on October 1, 1946, he was the son of the late Wilmond Earl "Happy" Ashby, Sr. and Mary Rose Searcy Stevens.
A graduate of Western High School, Wilmond served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a retired supervisor at General Cable in Lawrenceburg and attended the Van Buren Church of Christ. His grandkids were his greatest joy.
Wilmond is survived by his two sons, Brad (Tonya) Ashby and Bryan (Jenny) Ashby, both of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Leann Ashby (Jake Brown), Autumn (Abe) Fair, Wesley Ashby, Brayden Ashby, and Reagan Ashby; a great grandchild, Peyton Fair; four sisters, Mary Emma Ashby, Judy (Rick) Bowers, Kathy (Ricky) Peach, Glenna Standifer (Skip); several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Karen Stockton. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Barb Mitchell.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Leslie Bentley and Kent Stevens officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 – 8 PM Friday and after 9 AM until the service Saturday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Ashby, Brayden Ashby, Larry Stevens, Forrest Stevens, Ricky Stevens, Eddie Stevens, Ronnie Stevens, and Brent Stevens. Honorary bearers will be Larry Drury, Daril Ulery, Jake Brown, Abe Fair, and Wilmond's nephews.
