William "Billy" Rice Shelton, 79, passed away June 6, 2022 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.

Mr. Shelton was born in Anderson County to the late Hobert Shelton and Ethel May Brown Shelton.  He was proceeded in death by his son, William Houston Shelton and a brother, James "Jimmy" Hobert Shelton.

Billy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida Bernice Ruble Shelton; brother, John "JT" Thomas Shelton (Catherine); sister-in-law, Minda Shelton; his daughter, Billie Jo Shelton de Gonzalez (Marco); daughter-in-law, Teri Reynolds Shelton and three grandchildren, Harlee R. Shelton, Nicholas Gonzalez, and Alexis Gonzalez.

He graduated from Anderson High School in 1961 and attended Georgetown College.

He retired from Ford Motor Company, Dawson Feed & Supply and Anderson County Farm Service and many other odd jobs for anyone who needed help.

A private family visitation will be held at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  The public is invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, June 10, 2022 beginning at 2:30 PM at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion.  Pastor Troy Shelton will officiate the service.
