William Curtis "Bill" Marean, Jr., 80, husband of the late Linda Jean Parks Marean, passed away September 21, 2026 at his home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.  He was born in Worchester, Massachusetts on May 13, 1946, and was the son of the late William Curtis Marean and Elsie Hoogendyk Marean.

Bill started his career serving in the U.S. Navy from '69 - '74. After receiving an honorable discharge, he moved to Oregon to start a 30+ year career as a forester and prescribed burn manager, where he also met and married Linda, his wife of 47 years. Bill often said that he was incredibly lucky to be paid to work in the most beautiful and breathtaking areas of the country.

After retiring, Bill moved to Kentucky and filled his days working on the farm and spending time with his grandkids. He had a wealth of knowledge and skills that he happily shared with everyone.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Carrie Marean-Rearden (husband Patrick) of Philomath, Oregon and Rachel Linares (husband Gino Felske) of Lawrenceburg, two grandchildren, Adan Linares and Eva Linares, his brother, Skipper Marean (wife Valerie) of Maine, and his sister, Linda Casey of Massachusetts.  Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Priscilla Spencer.

A Celebration of Life service for Bill will be held on November 6, 2026 beginning at 1:00 PM. at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY.  Rev. Jim Wheeler will officiate the service and military honors will be given by the U.S. Navy.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
