William Thomas "Tommy" Houchin, 78, husband of Mary Jo Carlton Houchin, passed away November 5, 2023 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.  Born in Anderson County on October 8, 1945, Tommy was the son of Lister Thomas Houchin and Cora Bell Elder Houchin.

At the age of 12, following the death of his father, Tommy started working at a saw mill to support his mother and sisters.  In 1964 he graduated from Anderson High School and later began working at Central Screw Company until it closed.  He then began working as a security guard at Wild Turkey Distillery until his retirement.  While working both of these jobs he hauled water and drove a school bus for Anderson County Board of Education.  He also worked on his farm raising cattle and tobacco.  Tommy was loved by his family, neighbors, and many friends.

Including his wife Mary Jo of over 52 years, Tommy is survived by his niece he thought of as a daughter, Hannah Disponett.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lu Ann Hulett, a brother-in-law Arthur Brown Hulett, and a nephew Troy Preston Hulett.

No public services will be held.  Burial will be in the Pigeon Fork Cemetery in Waddy, KY.
