William Richard Dean, Sr., 79, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Husband of the late Diana Faye Drury Dean, Richard was born November 5, 1936 in Anderson County, KY, the son of the late William Chester Dean and Ruby Alice Murphy Dean.

Richard worked as a tree trimmer for Fox Creek RECC (Bluegrass Energy) and attended the Goshen Baptist Church. In his younger years Richard enjoyed fishing, hunting, and strumming his guitar. He loved spending time with his family and never met a stranger.

Richard is survived by two sons, William Richard Dean, Jr. and Kevin Maurice (Kathy-Jo) Dean, both of Lawrenceburg; two step children, James (Clellie) Lewis of Lawrenceburg and Andrea (Justin) McDiarmid of Independence, KS; 7 grandchildren, Austin Dean, Travis and Jordan Devers, Catelyn Lewis, Mark and Javan Freeman, and Dylan McDiarmid; 2 great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Lilly-An Devers; three sisters, Grace Perry and Doris Carmickle of Lawrenceburg, and Nancy Wooldridge of Shelby County; three brothers, James "Buck" Dean of KS, Vernon Gilbert (Patsy) Dean of Harrodsburg, and Harold (Pam) Dean of Lawrenceburg. Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Dean.

Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, March 29th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Monday.

Pallbearers will be Michael and Chad Wooldridge, Mitchell and Tony Dean, Travis and Jordan Devers.
