William Thomas "Billy" Gillis, 78, husband of 59 years to Darlene Glass Gillis, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born March 1, 1938 in Anderson County, KY, Billy was the son of the late Gilbert and Thelma Kathryn Baugh Gillis. He was also predeceased by a brother, Bobby Ray Gillis.

Billy was a truck driver for 45 years with Lawrenceburg Transfer and a member of the Corinth Christian Church.

Along with his wife Darlene, Billy is survived by two sons and their wives, Ricky and Laura Gillis, Randy and Kim Gillis of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Taylor Gillis, Griffin Gillis, Gunnar Gillis, and Jagger Gillis; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Gillis; and first cousins, Linda (Garnet) Chilton of Lawrenceburg and Faye (Tom) Losey of IL.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Temple, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 11 – 1 Thursday.
