Vanessa Louise Jones Gaines, 66, went to her Heavenly home on July 3, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, Kentucky. Born July 16, 1959, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Warren Harding Jones and Margaret Louise Cagley Jones.

Vanessa was a member of Farmers Grove Baptist Church in Clinton, Tennessee, and formerly worked as a cafeteria cook for Franklin County Schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for the love and kindness she shared with those around her. She loved attending church services and was excited to share the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon her.

In addition to her parents, Vanessa was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Sawyer, and her brothers-in-law, Charlie Gray and Ronnie Fritts, all of Clinton, Tennessee.

Vanessa is survived by her two daughters, Christy (Tommy) Carroll of Clinton, Tennessee, and Denise Smith (Randy) of Frankfort, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kayla (Chris) Carroll, Daniel (Stephanie) Carroll, both of Clinton, Tennessee, Tyler Grubbs of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and Aaron Beagle of Lexington, Kentucky; her great-grandchildren, Laken, Layne, Emerie, and Oliver; and her two sisters, Dinah Gray and Lana Fritts, several nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and nephews, all of Clinton, Tennessee. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Ronald Estes.

Vanessa's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
