Trent Gaylord Celebration of Life LIVE Broadcast

Trent Paul Gaylord, 63, passed away September 5, 2026 at his earthly home in Anderson County, KY.  A native of Massachusetts, Trent was born on March 20, 1963 in Pittsfield, MA, son of the late Paul William Gaylord and Elodie Ann Tracy Gaylord.

Trent was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, whom he worshipped, loved and feared. He was baptized at the age of 12 and then again in his final hours in front of his family by the love of his life, his wife Carrie Gaylord, whom he fiercely loved and protected. He was charming with a big laugh and contagious smile. His mind sharp right through his last day. He was strong physically and, in his faith, remaining comfortable amidst stressful situations. From the time he was a boy he found peace in nature, hunting, fishing and running his dogs.

At an early age he frequented the old rail road tracks with his beagle chasing cotton tails. He would smile talking about keeping that beagle off the leash during his little league baseball games so that he could listen to her run while he was in the middle of competition. He also would share the memory of going through cornfields as a boy on his father's shoulder in the pitch dark while his coon dog was treeing, without fear because in his mind nothing could defeat his father. He respected his father's toughness and endurance in life and in faith.  He was a proud graduate of Hoosac Valley High School in his beloved hometown of Cheshire, MA where he was a member of multiple championship football teams.

In his adult years, he cared for his mother for multiple decades in her beloved stone house by Cheshire Lake. He was a firm believer that it is the duty of the family to care for family, not the government. He remained a passionate houndsman in his adult life and a well-known coyote hunter in Berkshire County, with a book written including some of his adventures, "Coyote Wars: A deer hunters guide to hunting coyotes". He found joy fishing off the coast of Cape Cod, hunting and fishing in Alaska, hunting bear in West Virginia and deer off his farm in Kentucky.

Trent owned and operated multiple businesses (Country Charm Restaurant, Integrity Medical Staffing LLC) and believed that they were used as a vehicle for blessings to others.  He had an incredible sense of duty and responsibility to protect and provide towards the people and locations he served. He prayed for them and their families daily and would end each prayer humbly saying "make things obvious for me with what you are calling me to do, because I'm not that smart". He was unwavering and unshakeable in his love of people and was quietly generous to those in need. He was a man who would comfort people at times of trouble and weakness regardless of the direction that society was going. His confidence and certainty in Christ was contagious. Trent felt called to be a voice for children and was fearless in his defense of the importance of their lives starting from the womb. He would speak boldly to men and challenge them to be the man that God, not the world, is calling them to be.

The last chapter of his life was spent on the family farm in Lawrenceburg, KY where he enjoyed his family and livestock. In his final day on earth, he discipled like never before. His hands were raised high as he praised his Savior, not allowing the difficulty of his breathing to quiet his voice. He shared wisdom, he joked, he mentored, he loved and he proclaimed an incredible peace and certainty with where he would soon be given his new eternal body that he was promised in the Word of God.

Trent is survived by wife of 35 years, Carrie Kordana Gaylord; two sons, Hunter (Alyssa) Gaylord and Blake (Brooklyn) Gaylord, both of Lawrenceburg, KY; six grandchildren, Walker, Etolin, Grayson, Della, Ruth, and Phoebe; and three sisters, Paula (Rick) Boynton, Robin (Donald) Poirot, and Brenda (Jim) Ferguson, a mother-in-law Nancy Kordana (of the late Walter), sisters in law Lynne and Sharon (Michael Steele) Kordana, and Brother in law Kevin (Vicki) Kordana.

A Celebration of Trent's Life will be held on September 15th, 2026 at Ninevah Christian Church, 1195 Ninevah Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY.  Terry Cooper will officiate the service.  Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM with the service immediately following at 1 PM.

An additional Celebration of Life service will be held in Massachusetts.  The service will be announced at a later date but is being planned for early November.
