Townsel Lee Adams—ballroom dancer, joke teller extraordinaire, $2 bill aficionado, the original Louisville Cardinal mascot, and a man who never met a stranger—died Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021. "T" (or "TLee" as he was known to all) of Louisville, KY was born April 26, 1932, the only son of Townsel C. and Minnie F. Adams in Whitesburg, KY.

He graduated from Millersburg Military Institute and then the University of Louisville for Arts and Sciences, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and voted "Mr. Thoroughbred" by his peers. He married Donna Helen Holthouser in 1956 and graduated from the UofL School of Dentistry in 1958. He joined the Air Force and left active duty as a captain. He and Donna moved to Lawrenceburg, KY, where he spent his dental career and where they raised their four children. He was active in the community and the First Christian Church and also served on the local school board. Following Donna's death in 1995, T moved to Louisville and married Phyllis Ann Cain. They enjoyed traveling, a wide circle of friends, and their home (especially their back porch). He was an active Mason, serving in the Thor Chapter Aurora #633 and Eastern Star Middletown Chapter #319. He twice reached the office of Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star, the highest achievement offered. He was deeply loved and will be missed.

T Lee was preceded in death by his son Capt. Scott M. Adams (USA) and also his wife, Donna H. Adams. He is survived by his son Steve (Michael); his son David (Barbara); his daughter Amy Schirmer (Pete); his grandchildren Ashlyn, Courtlyn, Allison, Emily, Eric, Isaac, Charles, Adam and great grandson Hudson Sosby; his wife Phyllis Ann Hall Cain Adams; and his extended "Somerset family"--Phyllis's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom he loved and enjoyed greatly.

The family will host a reception on Sunday, December 5 ^th at The T.B. Ripy House in Lawrenceburg, KY, from 4:30-7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, and to honor the women in his life, memorial gifts can be made to the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
