Live Funeral Broadcast for Tommy English, Jr.

Tommy English, Jr., 85, husband of Mary Frances Rogers English, passed away May 1, 2023 at V.A. Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born in Warren County, Indiana on December 25, 1937, Tom was the son of the late Thomas V. English and Minnie Wynn Lynch English.

A graduate of Hazel Green High School in Laurel County, KY, Tom was formerly of Woodford County, KY and the owner/operator of English Paving. He served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the Seabees (Naval Construction Battalion). He and his wife Frances are members of the Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Challengers Sunday school class. They were former members of the Alton Baptist Church.

Including Mary Frances, his wife of 44 years, he is survived by children, Teresa English (Ana) of San Antonio, TX, Michelle Redden Clark (Ray) of Louisville, Glenn English (Jeri) of Bardstown, and Shannon Redden (Jennifer) of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Jesse Thomas Spaulding of Willisburg, Tommy Joe English of St. Louis, Laura Elizabeth English Gadwah (Joe) of Louisville; five great grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Carolyn, Jesse Jr., and Nora Jo; a sister, Ada Jean Kyle (Tom) of IN; and a brother, Jack English of SC. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Ann Brock, Sue English, Willis C. Smith, Ray C. Smith, and James Roy English.

Visitation will be Friday, May 5, 2023 from 11am – 1 pm followed by the service beginning at 1:00 pm Friday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Family members will serve as pallbearers and members of the Challenger Sunday school class will serve as honorary bearers.

Memorials are suggested to the Sand Spring Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon's International.
