Thelma Jean Whitaker Thompson, 73, of Frankfort, wife of 58 years to John Allen Thompson, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at U.K. Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, KY.  Born August 5, 1946 in Anderson County, KY, Thelma was the daughter of the late Everett and Clara Grider Whitaker.

Along with her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by a brother Paul Whitaker and a sister Joyce Walton.

Including her husband, Thelma is survived by two children, Beverly Thompson (fiancé Chris Disponett) and John Thompson, Jr. (fiancé Leah Perkins), all of Lawrenceburg; a granddaughter Kristen Tracy; three great grandchildren, Brooklynn Tracy, Ethan Ohlen Williams and Trey Everett Williams; two sisters, Linda Sallee of Lawrenceburg and Janice Artz of Lexington; two brothers, Coleman Whitaker and Keith Whitaker and wife Bobbie Sue, both of Lawrenceburg.

A time of visitation with the family with be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29 ^th from 11 am – 1 pm at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow beginning at 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Frankfort.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Whitaker, Bill Harrod, Christopher Whitaker, Ricky Satterly, Chris Whitaker, and Jamie Whitaker.   Honorary bearers will be Brandon Whitaker and Bobby Whitaker.
