Sylvia Alene Cox Aldridge, 67, of Lawrenceburg, wife of 52 years of Johnny L. Aldridge, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 20, 1949, Alene was the daughter of the late Ira Catlett Cox and Cleo Rachael McMichael Lathrem, and Alene's step father Franklin Leonard Lathrem.

Alene was a former beautician and owner of Alene's Beauty Shop for 15 years, a former custodian for the Anderson County Board of Education at Anderson County High School and Anderson Middle School. She previously worked at Union Underwear, Florida Tile and Kentucky Overall. A member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Alene served as Sunday School Clerk and Assistant Treasurer for the church. Previously, Alene was active with the ACHS Booster Club, Alton Ruritan Club, and enjoyed fishing, going hunting with her husband Johnny, playing bingo, softball, and taking family trips to Gatlinburg.

Along with her husband, Alene is survived by two sons, Anthony Aldridge (Lisa) of Lawrenceburg and Lee F. Aldridge of Bardstown; 5 grandchildren, Jeanette, Chris, Travis, Shelby, and Adam Aldridge; 6 great grandchildren, Katie, Landon, McKenzie, Sophia, Alexis, and Haley; 3 step grandchildren, Jacob, Jennifer, and Joshua Johnson. Including her parents, Alene was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Cox and a sister, Paula Kay Cox Cooper.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 12th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruner-McMichael Cemetery in Anderson County. Visitation will be 4 – 9 PM Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris, Travis, and Adam Aldridge, Wesley Osbourne, Ben Joseph, and Jim Evans. Honorary bearers will be Homer Whiten, Doug Sallee, and Jamie Florian.
