Susan Wright Peddicord Slayton, 70, wife of Bernie Eugene "Gene" Slayton, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at the U.K. Medical Center. Born September 23, 1946 in Louisville, KY, Susan was the daughter of the late Francis Leslie Peddicord and Sarah Wright Peddicord.

A housewife and former employee of Wal-Mart, Susan was a member of the Lawrenceburg First Christian Church.

Along with her husband, Susan is survived by two sons, Shawn Slayton (his Tammy) of Anderson Co., and Mike Slayton of Shelbyville; a step-son, Bernie Slayton, Jr. (wife Mimi) of Brentwood, TN; two step-daughters, Lorraine Broughton (husband Rick) of Louisville and Teresa Nahabeden (husband John) of Cummins, GA; a granddaughter, Fancy Goodlett; several step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren; and a brother, Frank Leslie Peddicord of Marietta, GA. Including her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a son, John Leslie Winter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 6 ^th beginning at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow services in the Best Cemetery, Anderson County.
