Susan Lafon Fritts Franklin, 80, passed to her eternal home August 10, 2024 in Frankfort, KY.  Born on May 13, 1944 in Harrodsburg, KY, Susan was the daughter of the late Charles Fritts and Ruby Van Arsdale Fritts.

Along with her parents, Susan was preceded in death by four siblings and their spouses, Jean and Bob Ramsey, Mary and Dudley Connelly, Van Fritts, and John Fritts.

Susan was a retired social worker for the Kentucky Department of Families and Children.  Following retirement, she volunteered at the Anderson County Senior Citizens.  Susan was active within her church, Sand Spring Baptist Church, serving as director of the nursery, Widow's Mite, bereavement meal committee and working as a church office assistant.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Grant Franklin, II (wife Katharine) and Brian Forrest Franklin (wife Marcia), both of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, William Carl Franklin (Makala), Brian Thomas Franklin, Taylor Franklin Richey (Cameron), and Blake Forrest Franklin; three great grandchildren, Taten Frith, Titus Salley, and Decker Kate Richey; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm Saturday, August 17, 2024 followed by the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm Saturday at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY.  Dr. Mike Hamrick and Brian Franklin will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Franklin, Brian Thomas Franklin, Blake Franklin, Cameron Richey, Craig Allen, Tim Connelly, and John Daniel Fritts.
