SueAnn Sexton Ford, 78, of Lawrenceburg, passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2021, in the loving company of her closest family; her final illness was not Covid-related.

She was born October 10, 1942 in Pikeville, KY, daughter of the late Kermit G. Sexton and Ruby Owens Sexton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Col. James K. Sexton, M.D., WV Air National Guard (retired), of Asheville, NC.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 24 years, Stephen Ford, of Lawrenceburg, KY; sons Nelson Maynard II, of Lawrenceburg, and Matthew Maynard (Karine), of Lawrenceburg; nieces Kelli Sexton Saenz (Tony), of Greensboro, NC, and Amanda Sexton, of Asheville, NC; nephew James K.A. Sexton (Kelly) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Jakob Wilson, of Hudson, WI, Ford Hawkinson (Kaitlyn) of Tacoma, WA, Elaine De Moulin (Zach) of Madison, WI; and, many beloved cats and grandcats.

SueAnn was a 1960 graduate of Pikeville High School, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Pikeville (then Pikeville College) in 1964.

She had a long and varied career as a teacher, pharmacy technician, and sales executive, but spent many years of her retirement as a dedicated volunteer for the Anderson Humane Society, and served as a board member of that organization.

Due to the present pandemic, there will be no public funeral service at this time, but a memorial service and celebration of her life will be held later this year.
