Stanley Arthur Schreiber, age 94, husband of the late Joan Elizabeth Ziegler Schreiber, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Anderson County.  Stanley was born April 22, 1928 in East Detroit, Michigan to the late Edward Schreiber and Helen Uppleger Schreiber.

Including his wife and parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his siblings, Milton Schreiber, Carl E. Schreiber, Edward Schreiber and Esther Wake.

Stanley was a very intelligent and hard working man, that enjoyed a challenge.  Stanley loved crossword puzzles, and would only work those out of the New York Times and Lexington Herald. He was a WWII Army veteran,  had worked for over 17 years as a conditioning foreman with Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation in Detroit, Michigan.  Stanley met his wife Joan at a Dude Ranch in Detroit, Michigan, and after they married, they both decided they should own riding stables. So in 1958 they followed that dream.  In 1965 they decided to make a change and began working with Harness Horses. They purchased "Arrow Smith" a horse that would become one of the best investments ever made.  In 1967,  with 16 Harness Horses and 7 Riding Horses, they moved to Lexington, KY.

Stanley is survived by his sons, Daniel Allor and David Heightchew, both of Lawrenceburg;  good friends, Bobby Gullet, Ronnie Wells, Chris Wells and Lloyd Aldridge.
