Silas Stedman Jenkins, Jr., 83, widower of Betty Jenkins, passed away peacefully at his home in Lawrenceburg, KY on April 17, 2017.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Jenkins served in the Tank Gunnery, 3 ^rd Armored Division, Company C, 29 ^th Armored Inf. Bat., stationed at Ft. Knox. He was born in Scott County and had been a long time resident of Woodford County, where he worked in construction.

He is survived by his children: Susan (Richard) Jones of Versailles; Mark (Debbie) Jenkins of Oak Ridge, TN; and Jeanette (Lupe) Long-Gongora of Lawrenceburg; Grandchildren: Chad Jenkins of Indianapolis, IN, Rebecca Long of Lawrenceburg, and Cody Gongora of Lawrenceburg. Two brothers, Wilber (Jean) Jenkins of Georgetown and Lee (Brenda) Jenkins of Gastonia, SC. In addition to his loving wife, he was predeceased by siblings, Colby and Ruth.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the service following at 1:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery, Georgetown, KY.
