Shirley Ann (Saunders) Moffett, 75, wife of 55 years to Kenneth D. Moffett, died Friday, April 26, 2019. Born September 9, 1943 in Shelby County, Shirley was the daughter of the late James Edward and Hallie Bell (Slucher) Saunders.
Including her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Lee Bowman; four sisters, Frances Saunders, Margaret Hill, Edith Hill and Lucille Rucker; and a brother, Robert Saunders.
Shirley was a retired Administrative Specialist for the Dept. of Human Resource and Labor Cabinet with Kentucky State Government. A member of Sand Spring Baptist Church and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, she served in the Deacons Auxiliary and the Awana Program. She was a former member of Pigeon Fork Baptist Church and the Fox Creek Homemakers Club. Shirley enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Including her husband, Shirley is survived by three children, Kathy Ann Harvey, Kenneth David Moffett and his wife Renee, and Kimberly Sue Wiley, all of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Jessica Morgan Wiley and her fiancée Jon DeKay, and Kuyle Bowman; a sister, Viola Elizabeth Sullivan of Frankfort; and three brothers, James Albert Saunders and wife Norma of Louisville, Johnny Waverly Saunders and wife Barbara of Shelbyville, and Paul Thomas Saunders and wife Judy of Lexington.
Services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 8 P.M, Saturday and from 11 A.M., till time of service Sunday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kuyle Bowman, John Moffett, Doug Briscoe, Bill Wallace, Fred Cook, and Tim Rucker.
