Sherry McKinney Funeral Service Broadcast

Sherry Lee "Chicken Butt" McKinney, 59, passed away September 17, 2023 in Somerset, KY.  Born on January 31, 1964 in Versailles, KY, she was the daughter of E.J. McKinney and Lucy Maxine Long McKinney.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Patricia Dunnum, Deborah Renner, and Vicki McAfee-Doss.

Sherry formerly worked in production at Frankfort Rehabilitation and was a member of the Active Day Program in Somerset.  The winner of the 2017 Ms. Ability Pageant in Somerset, Sherry was an avid U.K. fan, and enjoyed playing Rook, the music of Alabama, drawing and coloring pictures, and making homemade birthday cards to give to family and friends.

Sherry, affectionately known to her family as Chicken Butt is survived by a sister, Cathy Goodlett (husband Wayne) and a brother, Michael McKinney (wife Christie); two brothers-in-law, Dan Dunnam and Jerry Renner; several nieces and nephews; her bonus sister, Cindy Hollon; and her caregivers, Brenda Burton and Ellen Sullivan.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023 until the time of the memorial service at 1:30 pm Thursday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Pastor Kenny Robinson will officiate the service.
