James Donald "Shawn" Caldwell, 67, husband of Candy Hill Caldwell, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at his home in Lawrenceburg. Born October 11, 1957, he was the son of the late James S. "Wop" Caldwell and Mildred Aileen Young Caldwell.

Shawn was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, where he served as a trustee and lived out his devotion to his faith and community. A skilled and hardworking mechanic, he was the proud owner of Shawn's Auto & Exhaust for more than 35 years. Following his retirement, he continued doing what he loved as a mechanic at Dude's Muffler & Brake Shop.

A devoted family man, Shawn treasured time spent fishing with his grandchildren, caring for his beloved dogs, Louie and Poncho, and watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He also enjoyed collecting guns and sharing his interests with others. Above all, Shawn cherished his family, who were the center of his life.

In addition to his wife, Candy Hill Caldwell of Lawrenceburg, Shawn is survived by his children, Carrie (Wayne) Grimes, Leslie Ortega, Lanessia (Cole) McCourt, and Victoria Hawkins, all of Lawrenceburg; eight grandchildren, Taylor, Graci, Cannon, Sylas, Colton, Paisley, Maverick, and Clayton; six great-grandchildren, Easton, Brooks, Luca, Rory, Riggs, and Manolo; siblings, Dillard "Dickie" (Regina) Caldwell, Douglas "Dude" (Donna) Caldwell, Kitty (Jim) McAllister, Beverly Ann (Boddy) Wooldridge, and Barbara Ruth Hall; sisters-in-law, Lilly Caldwell and Tammy Caldwell; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings William Newton "Billy" Caldwell, Ronald Eugene "Bodie" Caldwell, Angela Marie Carr, Wanda Sue "Pootie" Caldwell, and Glenda Gail "Ginny" Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Freedom Baptist Church, 1010 Powell Taylor Road, Lawrenceburg, with Bro. Steve Wells officiating. Burial will follow in the Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00–8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Freedom Baptist Church, and again on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cole McCourt, Wayne Grimes, Brad Caldwell, Cannon Dotson, Clayton Greene, Austin Coulter, Colton Ortega, Maverick McCourt, and Easton Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Caldwell, Dude Caldwell, Jim McAllister, Dickie Caldwell, Tyler Hill, and Todd Hill.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Cheri and the hospice nurses at Bluegrass Care Navigators for their compassionate care and support.
