Funeral Service Broadcast for Scottie Franklin

Edward Scott "Scottie" Franklin, 60, husband of Pamela Jo Shartzer Franklin, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Born on August 10, 1965, he was the son of the late Johnny Keith Franklin and Flora Downey Franklin.

He was a member of Ninevah Christian Church in Anderson County and worked as a diesel mechanic for Worldwide Equipment. A gifted mechanic from a young age, Scottie began working on engines at just 14 years old. Scottie had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and taking long drives through the countryside. Known for his sense of humor, he brought laughter to those around him with his quick wit, jokes, and storytelling. Above all, Scottie was a devoted family man. He cherished time spent with his loved ones—his wife, children, and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

Including Pam, his wife of 30 years, Scottie is survived by his children, Ashley Brown-Franklin (husband Buddy), Christopher L. Cox, and Krista N. Shartzer (Christopher Taylor); his grandchildren, James, Amelia, Blakely, Alaina, Silas, and Emylou; and his siblings, Sheila Clark, Johnny Franklin, Angie Kendall, and Shannon Goodin.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Harry Rose. Visitation will take place beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Cremation will follow the services.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Brown, Chris Cox, Tippy Thompson, Heath Martin, Tim Legal, and Buddy Shartzer.
