Scott Thomas Smith, 59, of Harrodsburg, husband of Betty Carmickle-Smith, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021.  Scott was born March 25, 1962 in Monroe, WI to Thomas E. Smith of Albany, WI and the late Kay Wegner Smith.

Scott served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Culinary Specialist during the Desert Storm era.  He loved playing golf, collecting sports memorabilia, and his dogs, Topper & Teddy.  He also enjoyed football and baseball.

Including his wife Betty and father Thomas, Scott is survived by three children, Penny Haldeman (Don) of South Carolina, Paul Ganger of Norfolk, VA and Brian Ganger (Debbie) of Sioux City, Iowa;  ten grandchildren, Ashley Haldeman, Katie Lawrence (Todd), Alexander Haldeman (Jordan), Taylor Lopez, Kyle Ganger, Brian Pepin, Sierra Grable, Rose Ganger, Jasmine Ganger and Stephen Ganger; his great grandchildren, Elsie Lawrence, Oliver Haldeman, and Damien Ganger;  his aunts and uncles, Suzie & Bud Veazey, Anna Mae Galbin, David & Eleanor Smith, Denny Zimmerman; his brother and sister-in-law, Bowen Carmickle and Henrietta Goins; and numerous cousins.

Services for Scott will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Derek Baker officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 7 P.M.

Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Lawrence, Kyle Ganger, Taylor Lopez, Don Haldeman, Alexander Haldeman, and Brandon Carmickle.
