Funeral Service Boradcast for Sandra Works

Sandra (Sandy) K. Rowan Works went to her heavenly home on February 17, 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio after a two year illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) E. Works, to whom she was married 58 years and the two together faithfully served the Lord Jesus in ministry.

She was born in Bloomington, IL on June 1, 1942 to the late Burton Rowan and Alvie Loy Rowan. Sandy is survived by three children, Lisa Works Thudium (Paul) of Walton, KY, Stephen T. Works of Midway, KY, and Curtis M. Works (Paula) of Sadieville, KY.

Sandy (Mimi) nurtured and cherished her four grandchildren; Brian Thudium (Sarah), Laura Thudium (Vince), Dalton Works, and Mackenzie Works. She loved them dearly and will always be remembered for fun she had with the family. In addition, Sandy is also survived by her beloved sister, Sharon Jones of Bonita Springs, FL.

Sandy, after growing up in Bloomington, finished high school in Ft. Myers, FL. She then worked for Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. It was while she was in the Washington, D.C. area, that she first met Bob on a blind date. They were subsequently married on June 1st, 1962 and soon afterwards moved to Lexington, KY where they would raise their three children.

She was very active in the churches she attended, most recently she was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY for the past 24 years. There she served in ministry along with Bob in the "Pairs and Spares" Sunday School Class. She also frequently went on visitation assignments which were instrumental in the growth of the church.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 27th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Hamrick will be officiating along with Pastor Timothy Works. Burial will follow at Sand Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
