Samuel Edward Cook, 84, of Bloomfield, husband of the late Beulah Mae Satterly Cook, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Willisburg, KY.

Born May 18, 1933 in Anderson County, KY, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Amanda Pearson Cook. Including his parents, Samuel was preceded in death by sixteen sisters and brothers.

Mr. Cook served his county stateside as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean era.  He retired following 36 years of service as a utility operator for General Electric. Along with his brothers, he previously worked as a brick mason.  A member of the Chaplin Baptist Church, he enjoyed mowing his yard, gardening, and working on his automobiles.

Mr. Cook is survived by his children, Blane Edward (Darlene) Cook of Lawrenceburg, Rickey Wayne (Sharon Kay) Cook of Louisville, and Jerelina Mae "Jerri" (Carl) Stumph of Willisburg; four grandchildren, Carl Bradley (Erin) Stumph II, Angelina Mae (Jimmy) Claunch, Joshua Wayne Cook, and Troy Lee (Nicole) Stumph; five great grandchildren, Wyatt Bradley Stumph, Paxton Wade Stumph, Haylee Mae Stumph, Carl-Lee Ray Stumph, and Layna Nicole Stumph.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 3 ^rd at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 AM. Bro. Gary Paul Satterly will officiate the service. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Stumph, Troy Stumph, Joshua Cook, Angelina and Jimmy Claunch, and Kalin Hood. Mr. Cook's great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers, Wyatt, Wade, Haylee, Carl-Lee, and Layna.
