Ruth Carolyn Warford Thacker, 79, of Lawrenceburg, wife of the late William Horace "Poogie" Thacker, Sr., passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born April 28, 1937 in Anderson County, Ruth was the daughter of the late Ernest N. and Myrtie M. Buntain Warford. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments in Versailles and a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Billy Thacker and his wife Joanie of Lawrenceburg, and Bobby Thacker of Frankfort; five grandchildren, Jim (Ashlee) Thacker, Kyle (Emily) Thacker, John (Morgan) Thacker, Lane and Clay Thacker; three great grandchildren, Cassidy, Brylee, and Ellason Thacker; a sister, Maxine Flynn, and a brother, Ralph (Alma) Warford of Lawrenceburg.

Along with her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Stewart Warford and Horace Ray Warford, and four sisters, Gladys Robertson, Lucille Perry, Wilma Hume, and Nina Mae Willard.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg with Dr. Mike Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 Saturday and after 8 AM Sunday.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jim, Kyle, John, Lane, and Clay Thacker, Luke Thacker, Chip Dennis, Jerry and Chris Puckett. Denise Meyers and Tiffany Sizemore will serve as honorary bearers.
