Russell Patton Massie, 83, husband of the late Lillie Jane Montgomery Massie, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the Charleston Health Care Center in Danville. Born November 25, 1932 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Elijah and Arminda Jane Boyd Massie.

An auto mechanic by trade, Mr. Massie attended the Glensboro Baptist Church and was a member of the St. John's Masonic Lodge #125 in Salvisa. One of his enjoyments was fishing.

Survivors include three children, Debbie Martinez of Harrodsburg, Diana Knox of Lawrenceburg, and Tony (Daphne) Massie of Harrodsburg; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Ronnie S. (Debbie) Massie of IN; and two sisters, Gladys (Richard) Dailey of Shelbyville and Mary Belle (Gene) Goff of Crestwood.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Russell E. "Rusty" Massie, a daughter, Mary Jane Massie, and a brother Jimmy Massie.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 9th at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Corn officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Friday with Masonic Rites observed at 7:30 PM.
