Ruby Catherine Ripy Smith, 90, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Wendol Keith Smith, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Smith was born in Anderson County, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Bell Watts Ripy. She was a member of the Anderson Christian Church where she helped with the Retired Angels.  Ruby was a homemaker and previously worked at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.  She enjoyed cooking, shopping, traveling, old gospel hymns, hummingbirds, U.K. Basketball, and spending time with her family.

Ruby is survived by her children, Joy Smith (Walter Skip) Stocker of Harrodsburg, Beverly Smith Gravitt of Lawrenceburg, Sherrie Smith Jensen of Shelbyville, John Keith Smith of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Including her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Walker Smith; two brothers C.B. Ripy and Curtis Marshall Ripy; and four sisters, Mable Ripy Smith, Virginia Ripy Wells, Gladys Ripy Webb Moreland, and Evelyn Ripy Johnson.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday until the time of service. Jonathan Gleason of Anderson Christian Church will officiate the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Stocker, Stephen Burchett, Alex Jensen, Jordan Smith, Logan Smith, Will Begley, Wade and Jake McKinley.

Honorary bearers will be Lonnie and Doris Robinson, Brian and Tonya Bowman, Bruce and Jenni Quire, Gary Smith and Tony Stratton.
