Ruby Jewell Bailey Donovan, age 94, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Bradford Square in Frankfort, KY.  Ruby was born November 25, 1929 in Scott County, KY to the late John Tilford Bailey and Sylvia Mae Riddle Bailey.

Including her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Herbert Bailey, James Mason Bailey, John T. Bailey, Jr., and Gladys Mae Bailey Sams.

Ruby was a former Business Professional and the executive secretary for Elmer Whitaker, the owner of Whitaker Bank Corporation of Kentucky. Ruby attended Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church, was a member of the Golden Age Sunday School Class, the Women's Bible Study group and the GEM Senior Group, and volunteered with the Frankfort American Red Cross. Ruby loved to dance and listen to music, playing her music the entire day. She loved education, writing short stories, and researching her family genealogy and writing a very detailed account of her family ancestry.

Ruby is survived by her son, Jerry T. Donovan (Debbie) of Lawrenceburg; her daughter, Paula Jo Rutledge (Mike) of Frankfort; a brother Ronald Gene Bailey (Wylene) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren, Anthony Paul Donovan, Katie Jo (Gill) Kees (Jeff), Michael E. Gill (Becca) and Benjamin Scott Gill (Elizabeth); twelve great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

No public services are scheduled. Ruby's cremains will be interred in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery Columbarium.
