Ronald "Ron" Stewart West, age 71, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026 at his home in Anderson County. Ron was born December 28, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Webb Edward West and Elizabeth Duncan Stewart West.

Ron was an Army veteran who, after leaving the military, moved to Kentucky in 1983. He was a factory worker who worked at the same factory for over 30 years at Washington Penn Plastic Company. July 24, 1998, Ron married his wife Melanie Carol Lewis West. Ron was a true outdoorsman, in his younger years, he loved fishing and hunting, but in his later years he enjoyed mowing his yard and landscaping. Along with being a loving husband, Ron was also a loving father and Grandaddy.

Along with his parents, Ron is predeceased by a daughter, Jessica Kays; and a brother, Bob West and his wife, Donna Smith.

Ron, along with his wife, Melanie, is survived by his children, Leslie Kays of Frankfort, and Joshua Kays (Emmi) of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Destiny Schell (Carlos Diaz), Taylor Kays, Zachary Kays, and Raelee Kays; a great grandchild, Romeo Diaz; a brother, Mike West (Cathy) of Frankfort; and his fur-babies, Rocky and Jayla.

No public services will be observed. Cremation was chosen.
