Roger Holt Cox, 74, husband of Shirley Hill Cox, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at U.K. Healthcare in Lexington. Born November 21, 1942 in Versailles, KY, Roger was the son of the late Delbert Owen Cox and Dorthy "Dot" Gill Howard Cox.

A graduate of Anderson County High School and a farmer, Roger worked as a Bindery Supervisor for Rand McNally in Versailles for 39 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and making sorghum, cooking and making chili for his family.

Along with his wife Shirley, Roger is survived by three children, Roger T. (Kay) Cox, Christopher S. Cox, and Anita (Paul Thomas) Vaughn, all of Lawrenceburg; three step-children, David (Robin Marie) Monroe, Lisa (Kevin) Van Natta, and Robin Ransdell; four grandchildren, Logan Thomas Cox, Katherine Elise Cox, Christopher Samuel Cox II, and Caleb Holt Cox; one great granddaughter, Victoria Lee Cox; 16 step grandchildren; 20 step great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Jane Tinsley; and two brothers, Delbert Owen (Joyce) Cox, Jr. and Robert Kenneth Cox. He was preceded in death by a step-son, Jonathan "Jonny" Monroe.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 beginning at 7:00 PM at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 – 7 PM Thursday.
