Rodney Nathan "Rod" Cunningham, 72, husband of Gina McCoy Cunningham, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home in Lawrenceburg.  Born in Frankfort, KY on June 22, 1949, Rod was the son of the late Clarence Davis "Buddy" Cunningham and Dorothy Mildred Drury Cunningham.

A 1967 graduate of Anderson High School, he attended the University of Kentucky and became a Journeyman Tool Maker.  Along with his wife, he was the owner and operator of Custom Tool & Manufacturing Company in Lawrenceburg for 40 years.  Rod loved music and in his earlier years played the bass guitar and other instruments in the Showboat Band.  Known for his picking personality, Rod loved people and especially loved spending time with his grandsons.

Including Gina, his wife of 44 years, he is survived by two children, Eric N. Cunningham of Lawrenceburg and Ashley Cunningham of Louisville; two grandsons, Lincoln Riley Cunningham and Sawyer Maxwell Cunningham; his siblings, Terry (wife Donna) Cunningham of Lawrenceburg and Gina (Steve) Green of Lancaster; and several loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Bush officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3 – 8 PM Monday and after 11 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Dimartino, Bob Goff, Rick Lindsay, Paul Osborne, Trese Osborne, Dewey Pope, Mike Toohey, Davis Willis, and Wendell Zopfi.
