LAWRENCEBURG – Robert Allen “Bob” Roquemore, 90, husband of Wanda Sue York Roquemore, passed away October 22, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born in Lexington, KY, on May 15, 1936, he was the son of John C. Roquemore and Anne Irene Kemp Case.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Cyldia Ann “Cookie” Case, and a brother, Ronald C. Fields.

Bob earned his doctorate in education from the University of Memphis and taught for a total of 32 years at Sullivan University and Kentucky State University. He served for 23 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including service as a flight leader in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion Post #34, VFW Post #4075 in Frankfort, and the U.S. Marine Disbursing Association. Bob volunteered with Community of Promise and Community of Service in Lawrenceburg. He also served as a council member for the Anderson County Community Education program and as an NRA-certified safety officer at the gun range in Anderson County.

Along with Wanda, his wife of 68 years, Bob is survived by his children, Patti Lynn Roquemore (Keith) Warren and Robert Allen (Sandi) Roquemore, Jr.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild and a great great grandchild on the way.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Wheeler officiating. Burial of Bob’s cremated remains will follow at Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors.
