Robert Paul "Bob" Mefford, 83, of Lawrenceburg passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1930 in Lexington to the late Nannie J. Baker and Mark Steven Mefford.

Bob was a retired U.S. Army Warrant Officer 2nd Class serving for 20 years and 4 months with 3 terms in Korea. He later worked as a barber and owned Mefford's Barber Shop in Lawrenceburg. Served as a Lawrenceburg City Councilman for 24 years and was recently appointed to complete the term of Larry Giles. He was a member of the New Life Christian Church, American Legion Post 34, VFW Post #4075 in Frankfort, D.A.V., and past master of the Beaver Creek Masonic Lodge.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dolores Walker Mefford; children, Beverly Mefford Cotton and Robert "Bobby" (Dianna) Mefford, Jr., both of Lawrenceburg; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Leta (Roger) Berryman and Judi Lowery; a brother, Frank Mefford. Including his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mark S. Mefford and John L. Mefford.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, May 12th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Vernon Huber officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be 4 – 8 PM Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Larry White, Bobby Hume, Aaron Soard, Robert Raymond, Charles Powell, and Kip Halverson. Members of the American Legion Post #34 and Ladies Auxiliary will serve as honorary bearers.
