Robert Louis Montgomery, 87, passed to his Heavenly Home on July 19, 2022.  He was born March 6, 1935 in Anderson County son of the late Clarence Raymond Montgomery and Margaret Ella Stucker Montgomery.

Mr. Montgomery formerly worked as a construction worker and served his country in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict era.  He was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.  Some of his enjoyments included fishing, gardening, feeding birds, and mowing yards.

He is survived by his children, Robert E. "Bobby" Montgomery (wife Betty) and Wanda Kay Jordan, both of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren, Jennifer Jordan LeCompte, Billy Daniel Jordan (Angalina), Michael Isaiah Jordan (Katelynn), Heather Adams (Randy), Caleb Montgomery (Niki); step grandchildren, Christopher Birdwhistell, Trevor Birdwhistell, and Melissa Rose Bush; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Crawford and Nancy Ward; a brother, Jerry Montgomery (Sharon); and a half-brother, Steven Wayne Barnes.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter M. Montgomery; stepchildren, Garvis Birdwhistell, Jr. and Virginia Ilene Peyton; and a step grandchild, Tonja Ray Trost.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Wells officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Friday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Jordan, Michael Jordan, Caleb Montgomery, Raymond Montgomery, Tyler Jordan, and Marty Bertram.
