Robert Franklin James, 93, of Lawrenceburg passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clifforda Cunningham James, his parents Buel and Nora Mitchell James, a daughter Toni James, and a son Robert F. "Bobby" James, Jr.

Mr. James worked as a construction brick layer and served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church.

His survivors include a son, Keith James and his wife Zelma of Versailles; three grandchildren, Regina James of Lawrenceburg, Tiffany Simmons of IN, and George "Burt" Simmons of Lexington; 1 great grandchild, Gage Simmons of Nicholasville.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 12 noon Monday, June 16th at Woodlawn Hills Cemetery with Rev. Johnny K. Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Sunday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Memorials are suggested to Woodlawn Hills Cemetery.
