Robert Lawrence Buntain, 77, husband of Betty Waldridge Buntain, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, in Lexington, KY.  Robert was born May 24, 1943 in Anderson County, KY to the late Bert Buntain and Louise Searcy Buntain.

Including his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Buntain;  and two sisters, Stella Ann Buntain, and an infant sister.

Robert was a retired Supervisor with General Cable in Lawrenceburg, a farmer.  He was a member of the Glensboro Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and song leader for many years, and was also a member of the Anderson Masonic Lodge #90.  Robert was a hard worker and it showed in all he did. Robert was a member of The Good Ole Boys Gospel Group, where he sang and also played mandolin.  His signature song with the group was What A Day That Will Be.  Robert never met a stranger and could talk to anybody.  His two greatest loves were his Savior and his family.

Including his wife Betty, Robert is survived by two children, Robin Buntain of Georgetown, and Kevin Buntain and his wife Tina of Lawrenceburg;  six grandchildren, Lucas Tipton of Georgetown, Dillon Walls of Corbin, Breinna Walls of Lexington, Shaun Buntain of Versailles, Sydney Hatchett & Lauren Hatchett, both of Lawrenceburg;  six great grandchildren, Caitlan and Conner Tipton, both of Georgetown, Nora & John Mark Walls, both of Corbin, Parker Hatchett and Braxtyn Hatchett, both of Lawrenceburg, ;  a sister, Janie Bowen and husband Stevie of Lawrenceburg; and a brother, Bertram Buntain and his wife Kim, of Lawrenceburg; and a special brother-in-law, Dennis Waldridge of Lawrenceburg.

Services will be 7:00 P.M., Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Roberts son Kevin and grandson Dillon will speak.  Visitation will be Monday from 4 P.M. till time of service at 7 P.M.

Honorary bearers will be Roberts grandchildren and great grandchildren and Robert Davis.
