Joe Richard "Rick" Cassidy, 73, husband of 49 years to Judith Ann Smith Cassidy of Lawrenceburg, passed away Monday May 18, 2020 at the VA in Lexington, KY.  Rick was born December 17, 1946 in Jeffersonville, IN to the late Hedley Eugene and Helen Lucille Swearingen Cassidy.

Rick was a retired CMM operator & programmer with Webasto in Lexington and formerly with RSC in Versailles, and was a member of the Geff Christian Church in Geff, IL.  Rick served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post #34 for over 35 years and the DAV.  Rick was an avid UK basketball and football fan, enjoyed fishing and was a woodcraftsman .  His greatest enjoyment and love were his grandchildren.

Including his wife, Rick is survived by two children, Joanna Lyn Cassidy and Joe William Cassidy and his wife Katie, all of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Jim Cassidy and his wife Delores of Denver, CO;  four grandchildren, Amber Joleen Kelly, Savannah Anne Scott, Justin Rae Shivley and John Caden Shivley;  two aunts, one uncle, five nieces and 3 nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 AM Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home till time of service at 11:00 A.M. Bro. Russell Smith will be officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery with military honors.

Casket bearers will be Joshua Smith, Justin Shivley, John Shivley, Aden Farleigh, Jim Farleigh and Brian Renaud.
