Richard Warren Funeral Service Broadcast

Richard R. Warren, 82, of Lawrenceburg, KY, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at Lexington Premier Nursing Home in Lexington, KY.

Richard was born on December 16, 1942, in Nashville, TN, and was raised in Memphis, TN.  He lived a life of optimism, service, and unwavering faith.  He was dedicated to the Lord and served wholeheartedly in his church, Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, KY serving as the Pairs and Spares Sunday School teacher.  Richard was deeply involved in ministry, including his work with Gideon's International, Ronald McDonald House, and prison outreach programs, touching countless lives with his servant's heart and dedication to sharing God's love.

Richard retired from Commonwealth Credit Union in 2011, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and care for his colleagues and community.  While working he led numerous bible studies for the employees.

He was known for seeing the good in everyone and bringing encouragement and friendship wherever he went.  He truly was a friend to all and left a legacy of love, kindness, and faithfulness.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Iva Philpott Warren, of Lawrenceburg, KY; his sister, Rita Martin of Denton, TX; a niece, Shari Milton; two children, Deana Taylor and husband Lee of Franklin, TN, and Jeffry Redin of Louisville; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, William Lee Warren and Sarah Alice Cage Warren, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Grozier and a niece, Terri Morris.

Richard loved the Lord and is now rejoicing in his heavenly home.  He will be deeply missed by all who know and loved him.

A time of visitation will be held from 11am until the time of service at 12:00 noon Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Rd., Lawrenceburg, KY.  Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Sand Spring Cemetery.
