CPO Richard "Dick" Duane Dickerson, 94, of Eubank, KY passed away May 8, 2024 at the home of his son in Lawrenceburg.  Born in Casper, Wyoming on June 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Edwin Dickerson and Nell Whalen Dickerson.

Along with his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a son Arthur Duane Dickerson.

Dick served in the active reserves in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1959 on destroyers during Korean War.   He worked as an engineer at McCulloch Motors in Los Angeles, designed power supplies for the Gemini Program for Purolator Oil Company, and later operated a home design business in Northern California.  He was recalled to Vietnam service in 1968 and assigned to the SeaBees in charge of construction of facilities for the return of the Pueblo crew after their incarceration in North Korea.  He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and finished his service as a Navy recruiter in 1982.  He retired to New Hampshire, where he became a supervisor of the Street Department in Laconia, New Hampshire and later moved to Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Dickerson of Eubank, KY; two sons, Michael Edwin (wife Barbara) Dickerson of Lawrenceburg and John Ernest (wife Melissa) Dickerson of Epping, NH; seven grandchildren, David Catlett (Lea), Doug Catlett, Daniel Catlett (Jasmin), Leonie Dickerson, Henri Dickerson, Ferdinand Dickerson, and Mary Dickerson; five great grandchildren, Avery, Allison, Emma, Harper, and Katie Catlett.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, May 13, 2024 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, KY.
