Rene Wilfred Couture, 76, of Salvisa,  formerly of Connecticut, passed from this life to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 13, 2021.  Rene married Therese Claire (Fournier) Couture on July 12, 1969 and were blessed with 52 years together.  Rene was born July 21, 1944 in Stratford Centre, Quebec, Canada to the late Leonidas Couture and Bernadette (St. Laurent) Couture.

Including his parents, Rene was preceded in death by a brother, Romeo Couture.

Rene was a self employed master carpenter, building homes, decks, furniture and anything else he desired.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and later the Army reserves. He was a former pastor with the Light House Family Worship Center in New Britain, CT and Middletown Church of God in Middletown, CT; and a former Chaplin with the New Britain Police Department; Rene was an active member, elder, and bible study teacher with Anderson Christian Church in Lawrenceburg, KY.

Including his wife Therese, Rene is survived by his three loving children, Teriann Pasqurell of Southington, CT, Tina Piche and her husband Thomas of Salvisa, KY and Christopher Couture of Cromwell, CT;  five grandchildren, Rebecca, Jacob, Alexa, Giana and Trey; a sister Claire Bartoletti of East Hampton, CT;  two brothers Laurent Couture and his wife Maria of Marlborough , Ct and Raymond Couture of Richmond, Maine;  and several close friends.

Memorial service for Rene will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Anderson Christian Church in Lawrenceburg with Pastor Jonathan Gleason officiating.

The Connecticut memorial service for Rene will be held 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center, 1365 Stanley Street, New Britain, Connecticut.  Rev. Robert MacDonald will officiate the service.
