Phillip Franklin Funeral Service Broadcast

Phillip Garrett Franklin, Sr., 70, husband of Donna Cox Franklin, passed away September 22, 2023 at Baptist Health Lexington.  Born in Frankfort, KY on June 1, 1953, he was the son of Johnny Floyd Franklin and Nannie Ethel Gregory Franklin.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Joyce Hutcherson, Vivian Beasley, Hollis Franklin, Keith Franklin, and Donald "Donnie" Franklin.

A 1971 graduate of Anderson County High School, Phillip retired as an employee of the Department of Facilities Management with Kentucky State Government.  An avid outdoorsman, Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball and golf.  He was a former member of NWTF, Anderson County Sportsmen's Club, a member of Corinth Christian Church and attended New Life Christian Fellowship.

Including Donna, his wife of 51 years, he is survived by his father-in-law, Ernest Pete Cox; two children, Phillip "Garrett" (wife Jenny) Franklin, Jr. and NaBeth Michelle (husband Jacob) Turner, both of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren NaKayla (husband Devin) Casey, Bailey Turner, Lucas Franklin and Sarah Franklin; a great grandchild, Joannah Casey; four sisters, Anna Belle Glass, Thelma (husband Wendell) Bruce, Jean (husband Larry) Gaines, and Sherri Hahn; a sister-in-law, Mary "Francine" Franklin; and a brother-in-law, Lisco Beasley.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Matt Sawyer, Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. and Bro. Garrett Franklin officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 PM on Monday and after 10 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Franklin, Jacob Turner, Bailey Turner, Lucas Franklin, Devin Casey, Scotty Campbell, Johnny Franklin, Johnny Spencer, and Bobby Spencer.  Honorary bearers will be Marc Ruble, Earl Puckett, Charles Casey, Michael Wainscott, Danny Hulker, Wayne Azbill, Tony Kaufman, Dougie Richie, and the nieces and nephews of the Franklin family.
