Peggy Ann Sizemore Landress, 83, of Florida, formerly of Mercer County, KY, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 in Ocala, Florida.
Peggy was born August 1, 1939 in Owensboro, KY to the late Gordon & Berndina Engle Sizemore. She spent much of her formative years in Nebraska, North Carolina and Mercer County, KY. Peggy's father Gordon and her two sisters, "Little Betty & Doc", sang on several radio stations, which facilitated her family moving to several states. Peggy was a strong Christian, giving her life to Christ at the age of 9 at the Salvisa Baptist Church, and later became a member at the Central Baptist Church in Ocala, Fl. She served her Lord in several ways, she was a Sunday School Teacher, taught the Adult Single Classes, was a Christian Counselor, a choir member, sang in several quartets, and was a strong supporter of the Friends of Israel Ministry. Peggy graduated from Mercer County High School, and from there received her bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1960. She taught most of her career in Florida, and after 32 years retired and returned to Mercer County, where she was a much loved substitute teacher.
Peggy is survived by her only child, John Thomas Landress, Eustis, Fl; a cousin, Rosetta Lawrence, Salvisa; nieces, Jane, Beth, Susan and Elizabeth; nephews, Steve and Chuck; including her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Sizemore Fallis and Glenna Sizemore Bennett.
Services for Peggy will be held, 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Johnnie Hockersmith officiating. Visitation will be from 1 P.M., till time of service. Private burial will held on Monday at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
Peggy is now home with the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and her Savior Jesus Christ.
