Peggy Jo Drury Funeral Service Broadcast

Peggy Jo Drury, 78, wife of the late Paul Granville Drury, passed away December 3, 2023 at her home in Anderson County.  Born on July 26, 1945 in Anderson County, Peggy was the daughter of Vernon Leon Drury and Lurene Gritton Drury.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Drury Cooper and Joy Drury Gabhart.

Peggy was known for being a loving mother and grandmother to her family but also to all the kids in the community.  She attended Antioch Christian Church, and enjoyed playing softball, preparing meals for workhands on the farm and washing dishes.

Peggy is survived by her children, Timmy Drury (wife Debbie), Jeff Drury (Missy Pittman), and Paula Jo Drury Hayes (husband Chris); her grandchildren, Miranda Drury, T.J. Drury (Alex), Emily Milam (Jerry), Granville Hayes (Destiny), Ally Merchant (Jordan), Matt Hayes, and Christa Mitchell (Jody); 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Goodlett (Maurice); a brother-in-law, Don Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.  Rev. Steve Drury and Rev. Bart Price will officiate the service.  Burial will follow on the Drury farm in Anderson County.  Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 PM Wednesday and after 10 AM Thursday.

Serving as pallbearers will be T.J. Drury, Granville Hayes, Jerry Milam, Jordan Merchant, Jimmy Young, and Steve Goodlett.  Honorary bearers will be Miranda Drury, Emily Milam, Ally Merchant, Destiny Hayes, Alex Drury, Christa Mitchell.
