Peggy Jo (Chambers) Dowden, 87, wife of the late Wallace P. Dowden, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018 at Signature Health Care – Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg. Born January 30, 1931 in Lawrenceburg, Peggy was the only child of Hugh and Juanita Schirmer Chambers.

Peggy received a degree in engineering and worked as an engineer with Diamond Shamrock Company.

She is survived by her two children, Dawson Lee (wife Gabriella) Davenport of Irvine, CA and Harriett (husband Ray) Craig of Willisburg, KY; a step-son, Mark A. Dowden; and her six grandchildren, Dayna, Dallas, and Jaden Davenport, Rebecca, Hope, Carey and Jason Craig; and two great grandchildren, Mikayla Craig and Emma Roberts.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 2 ^nd beginning at 2:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Wheeler will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 12 – 2 PM.
