Pedro Vanegas Ramos, age 77, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. Pedro was born April 19, 1946 in Nicaragua to the late Felix Vanegas Ramos and Angelica Ramos.

Pedro loved being outdoors and farming. He was a former gold miner, and was known for being the #1 machine operator. Pedro played guitar, and in his younger years was in a family band with his brothers.

Pedro is survived by his companion, Maximina Varela Rodriguez; his children, Elayda Thomasa Ramos, and Angelica Varela, both of Lawrenceburg, Maria Dejesus Varela, Elena Silvia Varela and Marvin Antonio Ramos, all of Nicaragua; his grandchildren, Edwin Ramos, Erick Ramos, Ashley Ramos, Lucero Ramos, Paula Ramos, Kevin Ramos, Susan Ramos, Kenny Varela, Wilfredo Varela, Ruby Varela, Angel Varela, Karen Varela, Jeycell Varela, Rosa Varela and Jesil Varela; and several great and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass for Pedro will be held at 12:30 P.M., Friday, April 28, 2023 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Jeff Estacio officiating the mass. Visitation will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Church from 11:00 A.M., till time of mass at 12:30 P.M..

Burial will follow at a later date in Nicaragua.
