Obituary

Otis Watts, 77, passed away October 3, 2024. Born in Mousie, KY on January 17, 1947, Otis was the son of the late Coda Watts and Carrie Wicker Watts.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings.

Otis was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He dedicated 40 years of his career as a factory pressman at Rand McNally, where his hard work and commitment left a lasting impact. Known as a jack of all trades, he seamlessly balanced work and farming while embodying the spirit of a devoted family man. Otis had a passion for the outdoors, relishing in hunting and fishing, and he was an avid sports enthusiast who played basketball in his youth and enjoyed watching games with loved ones.

Otis is survived by two daughters, Michelle (husband Bobby) Cummins and Ashley Watts both of Lawrenceburg; devoted partner, Vickie Purvis of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Dakota Sallee, Mersadez Goodlett, Madilynn Williams, and Jackson Williams; one great grandson, Houston Taylor; and four siblings.

A graveside service with military honors will be held for Otis at 2:30 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Jessamine County, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Thursday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Sloan, Brian Watts, Scott Watts, Tracy Watts, Dakota Sallee, and Kolby Conley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390.
