Orbrey H. "June" Gritton, Jr., 85, husband of Juanita Thompson Gritton, passed away November 21, 2023 at Signature Healthcare at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg.  Born January 12, 1938 in Anderson County, he was the son of Orbrey Hollis Gritton, Sr. and Margie Myrtle White Gritton.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Agnes Peach, Dorothy McMichael, and Jesse G. "Bud" Gritton.

A 1956 graduate of Western High School, June served in the KY Army Reserves, operated June Gritton Tax Service, and retired as a tool maker with I.B.M. in Lexington following 35 years of service.  June was a member of the Claylick United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board, Treasurer, Trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent.  He was a member and Past Master of Beaver Creek Lodge #335 and a member of American Legion Post #34.

Including Juanita, his wife of 62 years, he is survived by two children, Sherrie Gritton Hall (Rickey) and Orbrey H. Gritton, III (Denise), both of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Brittany Duvall (Dustin), Brandon Hall (Julia), Summer Cotton (Zachary), Christian Gritton (Caitlyn), Ariel Mills (Cory), Jake Gribbins (Joy), Cole Gribbins (Mahaley), Erin Gribbins; 14 great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Baxter; two brothers, Larry Gritton (Linda) and Jerry Gritton (Judy); and a sister-in-law, Drucilla Gritton, all of Lawrenceburg.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2023 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Pastors Rocky and Denice Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2 – 7 PM Sunday and 10 AM – 2 PM Monday.  Masonic Rites will be observed at 6:30 PM Sunday evening.

Serving as pallbearers will be Orbrey H. Gritton, III, Rickey Hall, Brandon Hall, Christian Gritton, Lynn Gritton, and Martin Peach.  Honorary bearers will be his granddaughters, Brittany Duvall and Summer Gritton.
