Ophelia Mae Robinson Fields, 99, wife of the late George Malon Fields, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Signature Health Care at Heritage Hall in Lawrenceburg. Born February 20, 1917 in Washington County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Bert Lee and Cora Alice Dorsey Robinson.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four sisters, Hazel Kyler, Evie Stratton, Viola Sallee, and Azel Sutton; and 7 brothers, Oscar, Ernest, Ruel, Walter, Airence, Clarence, and F.D. Robinson.
Mrs. Fields was a beautician and owner of the former Fields Beauty Shop in Lawrenceburg and a former 20 year employee of the Dean & Sherk Thread Factory. She attended Westside Community Church and was a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church, where she formerly attended the Dorcas/Homemaker Sunday School Class and the Swingin Saints.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Roark of Lawrenceburg; three grandchildren, Chandra Akers and Amy (Roy) Metts of Lawrenceburg, and Autumn Slucher of Frankfort; five great grandchildren, Nathan Metts, Riley Slucher, Ian Akers, Blake McKinney, and Briar Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 23rd at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Pastor F.D. Robinson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10:30 AM Friday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Scot Stratton, Zach Stratton, Dylan Stratton, Joshua Ritchey, David Newby, and Steve Flinchum.
