Olga Elizabeth Hawkins Houchin, 94, of Lawrenceburg passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at The Lantern in Frankfort. She is the widow of Johnson Hanks "J.H." Houchin and daughter of the late Herbert and Rose McGaughey Hawkins.

Mrs. Houchin was born March 16, 1920 in Anderson County. A 1939 graduate of Kavanaugh High School, she formerly worked at Cammack's Grocery and the Fashion Shop. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Lillard Circle, and was a former member of the Alton Christian Church, the Homemakers Club, and a volunteer with 4-H Council.

She is survived by three daughters, Jane Taylor, Rosalie Yocum, and Ann (Darrell) Gabhart, all of Lawrenceburg; 7 grandchildren, Donna Taylor of Lexington, Glenda (Lonnie) Satterly, Tim Taylor, Allen Yocum, and Daniel (Carrie) Gabhart, all of Lawrenceburg, John (Leah) Gabhart of WV, Tarasa (Gary) Schmidt of SC; 13 great grandchildren.

Including her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Gary Taylor and Larry Yocum, and three sisters, Margaret Marshall, Evelyn Vincent, and Billie Fuqua.

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm Tuesday, July 15th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Knickerbocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Monday.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers with the granddaughters serving as honorary bearers.

Memorials are suggested to the Anderson Co. Relay for Life or First Christian Church.
