Nora Belle Hostetter Meriwether, 98, of Lawrenceburg, widow of Schelma Meriwether, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Born March 25, 1917 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nora Thomas Hostetter, Sr.

Mrs. Meriwether retired from Austin Nichols Distillery following 42 years of service. She was a member for over 81 years of the Alton Christian Church and served as a volunteer for the Alton Ruritan Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Sutton; two granddaughters, Melissa Hubert and Mona Sutton; an adopted granddaughter, Melissa Bergmann; three great grandchildren, Davis Sutton, Jacob Flora, and Monica Flora; two great-great grandchildren, Harlan Sutton and Brentley Livingston, all of Lawrenceburg; and a brother, Carroll Hostetter of Johnson City, TN, several nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Thacker; and four brothers, Ellis, Frank Jr., Vernon, and Ryburn Hostetter.

Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8 pm Wednesday.
